Influencer Spotlight: Amanda Ayala’s Journey to Confidence Through Modeling

While social media can be an intimidating place for some - others find confidence through putting themselves out there. That is exactly what Amanda (@pandaforeva_) has done.

From starting her platform back in 2017 and pursuing a career as a plus-size model, Amanda has built a community of over 32.7k on Instagram alone and has encouraged other women to feel confident and beautiful in their bodies. By sharing her favorite fashion finds and styling outfits, she continues to push the boundaries forward in the fashion industry to provide more body representation.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Amanda via email on her thoughts on the fashion industry, as well as getting her hot list of clothing stores and items for the summer season.

When and why did you start your platform?

I started my platform in 2017. I started because I wanted to see more body representation in the fashion industry and be a part of that as well; I've always wanted to work on my confidence. The opportunity has opened my eyes and mind to many things for myself.

What challenges do you face currently in the fashion industry?

Besides mainly being told I don’t look like my size until the fit of the clothing speaks for itself.

What are your favorite parts of the fashion industry?

Body representation! Also even though the fashion industry and it's fast-changing and ever-evolving, just about every creative idea and new trend in reality references back to its origin and history, history repeats itself in fashion.

What are your favorite brands / places to shop from?

What are your favorite clothing pieces from this season? (summer 2023)

  • Crochet

  • Shorts

  • Flats

  • Two-piece sets

  • Jewelry

  • White sneakers

  • Bucket hats

  • A good pair of slacks!

Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?

As I evolved on this journey I love being happy with what I do and being able to be a part of a community. I couldn't ask for anything more.
