a space to embrace the real you

The mission for Excluded Fashion started as an idea from our founder, Ashley Battle (she/her). As a 6’2 woman, she found it difficult finding clothing that expressed her personal style preferences and fit well. She proceeded to create a space on instagram for tall women to share her shopping tips and brands she felt included by, but still felt something was missing. She wanted to provide value for more women and decided to create a blog.

As our team conducted research to build the site, we immediately understood that there were other women who have been excluded from the fashion industry as well. Curvy and plus women didn’t feel included. Diverse women of varying backgrounds were not represented. Women with disabilities had struggles feeling confident in their clothing options.

And thus, Excluded Fashion was born.

Filter Descriptions

Each one of our blogs contains tags based upon the demographics and characteristics of the writer of the blog. This way you will be able to know the point of view in which the article was written. This is how we are able to guarantee you are consuming content from real women just like you. The following are descriptions of how we characterize each tag on our site.
